Create a BOT to find work and receive 43 offers

Robert Coomps created an automatic BOT to send resumes and thus bring about finding a job, and received 43 job offers.

We spent weeks decorating and adjusting our curricula but the reality is that, at least in the field of large companies, these curricula are read by bots(computer programs) which are making a first selection. If you take long time looking for a job, possibly your curriculum will have been rejected more than once by a bot. Sad, but true…

Robert Coomps is the director of an American NGO where already feel needed, so it was proposed to seek new challenges. United States all large companies use bots to filter the curricula vitae of candidates, therefore decided to use the same weapon: create a bot to automatically find employment.

Coomps is not engineer or programmer, but in your as director of an NGO acquired knowledge of data analysis. So I think a bot (a program) that automatically analyse job, identify the required posts and the names of persons of contact (recruiters), and send letters and automated emails.

He created two variants: a written and sent by email, and other similar email that the bot was in charge of filling and send automatically:

bot_buscar_empleo_2

It was not always sent the same kind of email, but had several variants and ones included CV as an attachment, in others its link to LinkedIn, etc.

The first version of his bot was too aggressive. In what was down to the cafeteria for a coffee, he discovered that the bot had sent their curriculum to 1300 companies. He decided to refine it with tips from recruiters that they contacted. Thus, for example, discovered that many bots give priority to the candidate take references from other companies, or certain types of schools where they had studied.

At the end of the whole 43 companies responded to the bot seeking employment asking for an appointment for a job interview. Robert Coomps spoke with 20 of them and confessed to them that in reality had contacted with a bot. All were surprised and congratulated him for his program.

After chatting with a multitude of recruiters and check the results of your experiment, concluded that most of job are available only if you have references, or acquaintances who put you in contact with the right people. In fact between 80 and 90% of the jobs not covered through LinkedIn, as he explained one of the recruiters, but because someone has a name, or an officer meet an interesting person, and creates jobs for her. Send your resumes or a bot’s job search, it is not better or worse when it comes to finding work…
